Prominent media personalities were also present. Amongst the first to arrive were former Shiv Sena MP Shanti Singh, former Union minister A B Vardhan.
The bride wore a deep pink heavily embellished lehenga with colour coordinated jewellery and a huge nose ring. The groom wore a cream churidar, sherwani and red turban. Lalu sported a plain pajama kurta while Rabri stood out in a heavily sequined beige coloured saree. The jai mala happened at around 9.15 pm and the groom who was much taller than the bride gracefully bent his head to be garlanded. Chandas sisters could be seen busy taking pictures on their camera phones.
The entire set up was divided into two sections for the VIPs in the convention hall and a open shamiana for the rest of the public.
The cuisine was all Indian vegetarian. To begin with, juices like lichi juice, thandai, gulmohar and gardenia sharbat and fresh fruits. For the snacks there were golgappas, papri chaat, cheela, chena ke bhalle. In the main course, one had the option for going for the phulka with tadka dal or gajar matar or aloo methi. Alternatively, there were sabz biryani and lauki nazakat, dal makhani, aloo bokhara koftaa, paneer peshavri, mix veg korma, palak and corn masala, dum aloo. Finally, for the dessert, there was vanilla ice cream, pudding, jalebi and kulfi.

The guests were entertained by a live band playing old Bollywood numbers like Madhuban khushbu deta hai and Hotho se chu lo tum.
The guests to this wedding were escorted by a well-managed help desk set up at the entrance. A duty chart with 13 parts was handed over to everyone ranging from who will receive the VIP to who will serve to the drivers. Crowd started building up around 8.30 pm. However, things started getting out of hand when a huge number of people started getting from the front gate including party members and Lalus supporters.
Interestingly, confusion was rife in the beginning as another wedding was taking place at the third floor of the hotel, that of Namrata Agrawal and Puneet. This led to confusion among cameramen from the media and inconvenience to their guests.
